Colleagues Not Competitors

The new world of work is pushing more and more workers into false and real forms of self-employment.

As businesses increasingly move into platform and cloud-based activities, former colleagues therefore risk becoming competitors.

Very little attention has been given to the societal effects of this individualisation of work. The aggregated effects of which are yet to be seen.

To ensure empowered, inclusive and cohesive societies, counter-individualising measures must be in place. A good starting point would be to guarantee platform/collaborative workers the same rights as employees with regards collective bargaining, social protection, training, and more.
