Andrew Pakes, Prospect
Andrew is Director of Communications Research, a Deputy General Secretary role, at Prospect helping to lead the union’s policy, organising, legal services, communications and outreach for over 144,000 members across a diverse range of professions. Prospect represents specialists, engineers, scientists, digital and media workers in private and public sectors.
Andrew started his career as President of the UK’s National Union of Students (NUS) and has held a range of advocacy roles in trade unions, the co-operative movement and the campaigning sector. He is a Trustee of Stonewall, the leading LGBT campaigning group and charity, and a former Trustee of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust.
HeeWon Brindle-Khym, RWDSU-UFCW
Is Director of Research and Global Strategies for the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU-UFCW). She oversees all corporate research and international affairs functions for the union. She has a broad-set of international and domestic experience in advocating and campaigning for workers’ rights and corporate accountability.
Brindle-Khym holds a Bachelor of Science from Boston College and a Master’s in Public Affairs from Columbia University School of International Policy and Affairs. Brindle-Khym also sits on various committees and boards of the global union federations, UNI Global Union and the IUF, the New York City pan-Asian community-based organization, CAAAV, and the New York City Industrial Development Agency and BuildNYC Resource Corporation.
